We are very lucky at Village Stores. Our fresh meat comes from John Turners of Cleethorpes, a real traditional butcher. Turner's back bacon is especially good, but if you get the chance, do try their own pork pies.

Turner's pork pies are hand raised, just like their brothers from Melton Mowbray. They come in various sizes, from Dinky up to the giant 4 pounder. Each is seasoned to perfection, and has lots of jelly, too!

Turners also make Cornish Pasties, steak pies, sausage and onion pies, and many others, too. Come in and find out all about them.

One thing Turners are especially known for is their Scotch eggs. We always joke that Turners fly them in from Scotland every night, after they have been freshly laid by their free-range haggis flock.

Another one of our suppliers brings us wonderful pate. All the traditional flavours are here - venison, wild boar, duck. And the same supplier now also has goose fat - this makes excellent roast potatoes.
